    Miss Teresa Balusek and Mr. Albin Besta were married by the Probate Judge in his office at Topeka Tuesday morning. The young couple went to Topeka on the morning plug from Rossville and after the ceremony took the T.N.W. for Delia from where they drove to the home of the groom's brother, Rudolph Besta. A wedding feast was prepared for the evening to which a large number of relatives and friends had been invited. The couple will go to housekeeping on the Masopust farm.

    MR. & MRS. BESTA HONORED
    ON WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
    A family reunion was held Sunday evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Albin Besta on the occasion of their 45th wedding anniversary. Children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters gathered at the Besta home bringing baskets of food.

    Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Besta, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Besta, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Beavers and Dorothy. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Brozzle and Kathy, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Richards and girls, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Colter, Mr. and Mrs. Edd Besta and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Besta and girls, Mr. and Mrs. John Stum and Wilbur, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Stum and Dianna, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cox and Juanita. Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Horak and children, Mr. Rudolph Besta, Mr. John Balusek, Mrs. Anna Kovar, and Mrs. Delia Simecka.

    Mr. & Mrs. Albin Besta married 45 years
    Mr. and Mrs. Albin Besta will observe their forty-fifth wedding anniversary on Columbus Day, October 12. Miss Teresa Balusek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Balusek of Rossville, became the bride of Mr. Albin Paul Besta, son of Mrs. Rudolph Besta, on October 12, 1909. They were married before the Judge in Topeka, Kansas. They made their home on a farm near Rossville. To this union four children were born, Mrs. John Stum of Delia, Albert Besta of Wamego, Ed Besta of Rossville and Bill Besta of Topeka. Mr. and Mrs. Besta have thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
    Mrs. Besta was born in Austria and came to this country with her par¬ents when she was three years old. She has two sisters and a brother. Her father was a shoe cobbler in Rossville and had his business and family living quarters in the building now housing Divine's Cafe. Mrs. Besta helped her father and her brother, John Balusek, in their shoe shop when business was rushing.

    Albin Besta was the youngest of six children. His father died a few months before he was born and he and his brother and three sisters helped on the lam to support the family. The family home was located about eight miles south of Rossville.

    Mr. and Mrs. Besta have spent most of their married life on farms near Rossville, moving to town in 1934, where Mr. Besta did trucking and odd jobs until 1940 when he established his present Rossville Dray Business.

    The Bestas lived in a neat little home in the southwest part of town
    where they moved in 1942.

    Mr. Besta, at 71, and Mrs. Besta, at 68 years, are a devoted couple and Mr. Besta is quick to protect his home, and his “cookie” from anyone or anything which might hurt them.

    Mr. and Mrs. Besta Married 50 Years

    Mr. and Mrs. Albin Besta will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 11, with a basket dinner for the immediate families in the Rossville Community Center. Following the dinner, from 2 to 4 p.m. on the afternoon, friends are invited to attend an open house in the Community Center. No invitations are being sent but friends are cordially invited to all.

    Mrs. Besta, the former Teresa Balusek, was born in Austria and came to this country at the age of three years. Mrs. Besta was born in the Rossville community. They were married in Topeka October 12, 1909, and to their union four children were born, Albert Besta of Wamego, Lottie Stum of Rossville, William Besta of Topeka, and Edward Besta, who passed away in December 1954 Mr. and Mrs. Besta have thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

    Most of their married life has been spent on farms in the Delia-Rossville community. They moved to Rossville where Mrs. Besta started his small trucking business in February, 1934. He established his full time Rossville Dairy business in 1940 and retired from his job in November 1958.

    At the present time Mr. Besta, at the age of 75, does odd jobs. Mrs. Besta is 73. They live in their home in the southwest part of Rossville.

    Friends of Mr. and Mrs. Albin Besta were reminded of the open house to be held Sunday afternoon, Oct. 11, at the Rossville Community Center to celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary. They invite friends to call between 2 and 4 p.m.
