  Anniversary- Hammel, Loren and Laurita Loren and Laurita Hammel Loren and Laurita Hammel of Manhattan celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a Mass and renewal of their marriage vows and a reception Saturday at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Manhattan. Reception hosts were their children and their spouses, Cathy and Ray Eads, Council Grove; Richard and Mary Hammel, Manhattan; and Dan Hammel, Bloomington, Ill. They have three grandchildren. Loren Hammel and Laurita Cowan were married June 2,1951, at Assumption Catholic Church in Topeka. Mr. Hammel retired in 1993 from Kansas Farm Bureau in information systems after 30 years of service. Mrs. Hammel retired in 1989 from Manhattan High School as a secretary in the school library after 23 years of service.
