    Bush-Simecka Couple Engaged; Will Wed in July

    Mr. and Mrs. Donald Bush, Jr., Rossville, announce the engagement of their daughter, Dori Lynn, to Jason Wade Simecka, son of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Simecka, St. Marys.

    Dori is a 1988 graduate of Rossville High School and is a senior attending Kansas State University, majoring in secondary education with an emphasis in English. Jason is a 1989 graduate of St. Marys High School, and is a senior attending Kansas State University, majoring in industrial engineering.

    A July 25, 1992 wedding is planned.

    Bush Simecka Vows Exchanged July 25

    On Saturday July 25, 1992, Dori Lynn Bush and Jason Wade Simecka exchanged wedding vows in an evening ceremony at the Rossville Christian Church, Rossville, with Robert Sieh, pastor of the church, officiating. The church was decorated with white pew bows and mixed bouquets of pink, white and lavender flowers.

    Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Donald L. Bush, Jr., Rossville, and Mr. and Mrs. John R. Simecka, St. Marys.

    The bride’s A-line princess-style floor-length gown was of satin and tulle, and featured a sweetheart neck and puffed sleeves. Her waist-length veil was of bridal illusion. She carried a colonial bouquet of pink roses and stephanotis with loops of satin ribbon and tulle, and streamers of pink shower ribbon.

    The bride’s personal attendant was Ann Tripp, Topeka. Others attending the bride were Monica Matyak, Colorado Springs, Colo., as maid of honor; Meredith Bradmon, Overland Park, Allison Bestwick, Manhattan, and Amy Shell, Atchison, as bridesmaids. Each carried bouquets of ruscus greens. Flower girl Deana Cushing, St. Marys, a cousin of the groom, carried a bouquet of pink roses.

    Wayne Gudenkauf, Seneca, was best man for his friend. Groomsmen were Sam Rottinghaus, Seneca, Jeff Lenherr and Doug Miller, St. Marys. Shane Manbeck, Rossville, a cousin of the bride, was ring bearer. Ushers were Mike Bush, Rossville, cousin of the bride; Eric Langvardt, Belvue, Brian Boeding, Seneca, and Scott Michaelis, Emporia.

    Brandi Bush, Rossville, a sister of the bride, was vocalist. She was accompanied by organist Linda Vacca, Topeka, an aunt of the bride, and pianist Cathy Manbeck, Rossville, an aunt of the bride. Wendy Vacca, Topeka, cousin of the bride, read the scripture. Nancy Rogers, St. Marys, aunt of the groom, attended the guest book. Ryan Mergenmeier and Jake Rogers, cousins of the groom from St. Marys, handed out programs, and the groom’s cousins, Debby Rogers, Heather Mergenmeier and Wendi Cushing, St. Marys, gave out rice bags. Candlelighters were Mendi Bush, a sister of the bride, Garden City, and Julie Simecka, St. Marys, the groom’s sister.

    Following the wedding ceremony, a reception was held at the St. Marys Golf Course, hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Mark Erickson and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Horton, Rossville. Assisting at the reception were Linda Tuller, Topeka, Bonnie Bush, Rossville, Jody Unruh, Sharon Springs, all aunts of the couple; and Virginia Yost, McPherson, a great-aunt of the bride. Mrs. Irene Milbradt, the bride’s grandmother, and Mrs. Lillie Unruh, the bride’s great-aunt, prepared the flowers.

    Mrs. Simecka is a graduate of Rossville High School. She is a senior at Kansas State University, pursuing a degree in secondary education with an emphasis in English.

    Mr. Simecka, a graduate of St. Marys High School, is a senior at Kansas State University, studying toward, a degree in industrial engineering.
    The couple went to Hawaii for their wedding trip, and are at home in Manhattan.
