    Vows Exchanged

Shelley Ann McClain and Roger Alan Braden exchanged marriage vows at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 26th at the Rossville United Methodist Church in a ceremony officiated by Rev. Paul Mitchell.

Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Luther McClain, Rossville, and parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Duane Braden, Wakefield.

Wedding music was furnished by Miss Jeline Kelsey, organist, Mary Fangman, guitarist, and Kathy Orm, vocalist. Candlelighters were LeAnn Braden and Christine Peng. The flower girl was Miss Kaylyn Carpenter.

The bride wore a princessline gown of white silk organza. Swiss guipure lace enhanced the portrait neckline and brief sleeves. A ruffle-flounced skirt swept to a chapel train.

A camelot caplet of matching lace held her waist length veil of illusion. She carried a short cascade of pink sweetheart roses, soft yellow mini-carnations, white daisies and baby’s breath with ivy streamers.

The aisle was lined with candelabra decorated with bows and ivy streamers.

The bride’s attendants were Sheryl Gudenkauf, Janet Siler, and Linda Babcock. Attending the groom were Mr. Jerry Braden, Jeff Conrow and Mark Reed. Serving as ushers were Mike Braden, Gary Carpenter and Jim Simonson.

A reception in the Jimmy Lillard Post #31 followed the ceremony. Miss Marcia Immenschuh was in charge of the guest book. Assisting at the reception were Roxann Matyak, Darcy Kohl, and Beverely Kiehl. Mr. and Mrs. Terry French and Brenda Heifner helped with the gifts. Lisa Pelfrey and Karen Preble handed out programs and rice bags at the church.

After a wedding trip the couple will live at 1627 Laramie in Manhattan. The bride is a senior at Kansas State University. Mr. Braden is a graduate of Kansas State and is employed by the University.
