Donovan—Thomas unite in marriage
Joan Elaine Donovan and James Edward Thomas were united in marriage on Friday, April 24, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Paxico.
A reception and dance followed at the Heritage Hall in Topeka.
Joan is the daughter of Jack and Ruth Donovan, Rossville, and James is the son of Mary Thomas, St. Marys and Ken Thomas of Topeka.
Claudia Pottorf was her sister’s maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Margaret Kleinsmith, sister of the groom, Amanda Feldhausen and Holly Gentry, friends of the bride. The flower girl was Brinley Pottorf, niece of the bride.
Steve Thomas served as his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Jerry Thomas, Mike Thomas and Billy Thomas, all brothers of the groom. Jeffrey Kleinsmith, nephew of the groom, served as honorary groomsman. The ring bearer was Jack Donovan, nephew of the bride.
Clare and Patty Thomas, sisters of the groom were guest book attendants. The ushers were Joe Thomas, brother of the groom, Garrett Donovan, brother of the bride, and Jason Pottorf, brother-in-law of the bride.
Joan is a kindergarten teacher at Kennedy Academy in Topeka. James is a commercial estimator for McElroy, Inc., in Topeka.
The couple honeymooned in Cancun, Mexico, and now make their home in Rossville.
