McClain, Rossville, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by taking a trip to the Carolina coast lines and Southern Gardens. After they returned home, a reception was held in their honor, on April 21, at the Rossville United Methodist Church during the fellowship time. Reception hosts were their daughter, Shelley Braden, her husband Roger, grandsons Adam and Bruce Braden, Manhattan, and Brian Braden, Rossville. A family dinner was held afterwards at China Inn in Topeka. Luther C. McClain and Edith M. Cerny were married April 16, 1952, in Las Vegas, NV. Mr. McClain farmed for several years before he started the McClain Amoco business, the McClain Propane business, and two Auto Parts stores. He has been in business in Rossville for 50 years. Mrs. McClain worked in the People's State Bank of Rossville before becoming a full-time homemaker.
