Horning-Holcomb Wedding Vows Exchanged
In a candlelight ceremony, Leslie Thola Horning, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester A. Horning, Royersford, Pa., was married in Grace Lutheran Church to Daniel Scott Holcomb, son of Arlene Holcomb of Macon, Ga.
The bride's gown was of ivory satinpeau with an empire waist and lace bodice, Mandarin neckline and long, tapered sleeves. It had an A-line skirt with a chapel train accented with lace inserts and trim. She wore a bouffant veil with matching headpiece trimmed with lace and pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of pink roses, stephanotis and baby's breath.
The Rev. John B. Bergstresser officiated at the double ring service. A recital of organ music was provided by Mrs. Leatrice Phipps. The soloist was Dr. George Rimby. Mrs. Daniel Aubel served as guest registrar.
The bride is a graduate of Spring Ford High School and attended Athens College in Alabama and is presently employed at Horning Chevrolet in Royersford. The bridegroom is a graduate of Rossville High School, and served in the U.S. Army at Valley Forge, Pa. He is presently employed at Stanley-Wetty, Inc.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Stephan A. Horning as matron of honor who wore a dusty green empire Maraceine jersey, long tapered sleeves, hooded jacket, accented with maribow.
The bridesmaids, Kathy A. Fedick, Cynthia D. Koller, Wendy L. Walters, were gowned identically to the matron of honor but in dusty blue. the junior bridesmaid, April M. Mizic, and flower girl Rebecca C. Horning, nieces of the bride, were in dusty pink. They all carried bouquets of pink carnations, blue bachelor buttons and baby's breath. The bride's mother wore a gown of French tulip warped pure silk.
Best man was James J. Mulvaney. The bride's brothers, Stephen A. Horning and Philip V. Horning, were ushers as was the brother of the groom, Dennis C. Holcomb. Gary L. Overdorf was junior usher and Douglas L. Hopler was ring bearer.
Following a reception at Brookside Country Club, the newlyweds left on a wedding trip to Bermuda.
