    Leslie Griswold Married

    From Shawnee, Okla., Morning News
Of much interest in Shawnee was the announcement made Saturday of the marriage of two of its well known residents, Miss Miriam Ives and Mr. Leslie Griswold, which took place at Guthrie Friday night.

The bride, who is the daughter of Mr. W.W. Ives, and has lived in Shawnee since early childhood, is a young woman of exceptional charm and intellectual attainments. Following her graduation from the high school she attended the Oklahoma Baptist university and is now a teacher in the Horace Mann Junior high school where she is head of the home economics department.

Mr. Griswold, who has been a resident of Shawnee for several years, came from Colorado Springs and is a graduate of the Kansas State Agricultural college. During his residence in Shawnee he has been local representative of the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance company. Mr. and Mrs. Griswold are popular in church, musical and social circles of the city. Mr. Griswold is a member of the Temple quartet, one of the best known musical aggregations of the city, and both are members of the First Presbyterian church and popular members of the church choir. Mrs. Griswold is an especially active worker among the young people of the church.

Although the engagement of the couple was generally known, the announcement of the marriage at this time comes as a surprise to their friends. The wedding took place at 8 o'clock Friday night (May 15) in the manse of the First Presbyterian church at Guthrie, the pastor, Rev. O.B. Lee officiating. The bride was attired in a gown of Brittany blue with harmonizing accessories. Following the ceremony the couple were guests in the home of the bride's brother, Maxwell Ives, who lives in Guthrie.

Mr. and Mrs. Griswold will return to Shawnee Sunday evening and Mrs. Griswold will resume her school duties Monday. The couple will reside for the present at the Ives home, 1411 East Seventh street.

Mr. Griswold is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. E.G. Griswold of this city.
