    Mr. and Mrs. M.L. Whearty of Rossville announce the marriage of their daughter, Ruth Maxine, to Pvt. Edward G. Wanick, son of Mrs. Gladys Halbert, Alton, Ill.

    The Rev. George Hoyer officiated at the double ring ceremony Thursday evening, March 22 at the St. John's Lutheran Church in the presence of a few close friends.

    The couple's only attendants were Mrs. John H. Hefner and Mr. Elmer E. Spillman.

    The bride, an attractive brunette, was smartly dressed in a light brown dressmaker's suit with dark brown and white accessories. Her shoulder corsage consisted of a single orchid.

    Mrs. Hefner was dressed in a gold suit with black accessories. Her shoulder corsage consisted of gardenias.

    Mrs. Wanick, a graduate of Rossville High School and Jane C. Stormont Training School for Nurses, is now a member of the nursing staff at Winter General Hospital, Topeka.

    Pvt. Wanick, who recently returned after 30 months in the South Pacific with the Fifth Air Force, is stationed at Fort Thomas, Kentucky, where Mrs. Wanick plans to join him soon.
