T. Queen will be honored guests at an open house May 16 at the Grove Community Hall in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.
The open house hours will be from 2 to 5 p.m. and guests will be received by their children. No invitations are being issued but friends and relatives are asked to call. The couple requests that no gifts be presented.
Mr. and Mrs. Queen were married May 15, 1915 at Caldonia, Missouri, and have lived in the Grove community for 31 years. Mr. Queen was section foreman for the Union Pacific Railroad for 40 years until he retired eight years ago.
Mr. and Mrs.; Queen are the parents of seven children, Mrs. Geraldine Edwards, Junction City; Mrs. Ruth Blush, Silver Lake; Mrs. Imogene Reese, Tecumseh; Mrs. Doris Anderson, Topeka; Calvin Queen, Lakewood, California; Donald Queen, Silver Lake and Bill Queen, Silver Lake.
There are 13 grandchildren.
