    Haddows married 50 years
Fifty years ago on October 30, a young couple David Haddow and Rose Criqui, drove a team of ponies hitched to a top buggy from Olivet, Kansas, to Lyndon, Kansas, and were united in marriage. It was a rainy day and the ponies waded deep mud.

After their marriage, they resided at Olivet for a short time where Mr. Haddow worked in a hardware store. They moved to Lawrence, Kansas, for one winter and then went on to McFarland, Kansas where he railroaded for several years for the Rock Island Railroad.

In 1938, they came to retire in Rossville and to spend the remaining years in “this fine little city.”
