    Eugene M. Pugh
    ROSSVILLE Eugene M. Pugh, 83, Rossville, died Thursday, June 30, 2005, at St Francis Health Center in Topeka. He was born May 2, 1922, in the Maple Grove community in Trego County, the son of Elmer and Eartha Joy Pugh. He had lived in the Rossville community since June 1961. He spent his early years in the Cedar Bluff area and graduated from Cedar View Grade School in 1935. He graduated fromTrego Community High School in WaKeeney in 1939. He graduated from Fort Hays State College in 1948. Mr. Pugh taught two years at Mount Pleasant Grade School and then in 1950 went to work for the Kansas State Highway Commission. He retired in 1988 as a safety specialist for the Kansas Department of Transportation. Mr. Pugh enjoyed doing woodworking. He attended Rossville Christian Church, and was a member of the Elite Group at the US Bank in Rossville. Survivors include his wife, Esther Pugh, of the home; three sons, Eugene Pugh, San Diego, Scott Pugh, Topeka, and William Pugh, Wooster, Ohio; a daughter, Cyndi Harmon, Hutchinson; a sister, Fern Rhoden, WaKeeney; eight grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandsons. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, at Rossville Christian Church. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery in Rossville. He will lie in state from 2 until 6 p.m. Monday, July 4, at Piper Funeral Chapel in Rossville.
