  Documents » Slide Show		Anniversary- Eakin, Emery and Bertha 1 Reception Will Honor The Emery Eakins Mr. and Mrs. Emery Eakin, Delia, will be honored with a reception Sunday, December 15, in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary, at the Delia Grade School gym, from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Eakin were married December 17, 1924 in Topeka and have lived in the Delia community all their lives. They are the parents of three children, Ivaleu Miller, Edward Eakin and Eudora McQueen, all of Delia. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. The couple requests that no gifts be presented.
  		Anniversary- Eakin, Emery and Bertha 2 Eakin's observe 59th anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Emery Eakin, Delia, were guests of honor at a family dinner, Dec. 17, at the Golden Corral, Topeka, in observance of their 59th Wedding Anniversary. They were pleasantly surprised to find when they arrived at the restaurant, not only their children, but their grandchildren and great-grandchildren in attendance. Those attending included their children: Mr. and Mrs. Harold McQueen, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Eakin and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Miller. Their grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Mr. and Mrs. Tony Eakin, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Eakin, Lynne, Darren and Dennis Eakin, Mr. and Mrs. Lee McQueen, Glenn and Denise McQueen, Steve McKay, Mr. and Mrs. Vic Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Eisenbarth, Lanea and Lance, Gary, Beth and Rod Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Tucker, and Troy and Eric Cooksey. One granddaughter, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Botten and family of Quincey, Ill., were unable to attend.
  		Anniversary- Eakin, Emery and Bertha 3 Eakin Couple Will Observe 65th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Emery Eakin, Delia, will observe their 65th wedding anniversary on Sunday, December 17. No celebration is planned, but the couple would appreciate cards and letters. Emery Eakin and Bertha Dibbern were married in Topeka on December 17, 1924. Their daughters are Eudora McQueen and Ivaleu Miller, both of Delia. There are 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

They are the parents of Lee McQueen, Vilonia, AR, Glen McQueen, Delia, and Denise Robbins, Clinton Township, MI. They have three grandchildren. Mr. McQueen was a rural mail carrier and retired in 1983 after 27 years of service. Ranching was also a part of Harold’s and Eudora’s lives. They retired in 1996.

  Obituary- McQueen, Eudora Eudora J. McQueen April 15, 1932 – April 14, 2023 Eudora J. McQueen, 90, passed away Friday, April 14, 2023, from injuries she received in an auto accident. She was born in rural Jackson County on April 15, 1932, the daughter of Emery E. and Bertha R. (Dibbern) Eakin. Eudora graduated from Delia High School in 1950. Eudora and her husband Harold were farmers and ranchers. She was a member of the Delia Presbyterian Church and the UPW. She was very active in her community and church. Eudora worked for the United States Postal Service and USD #321 for several years. She served on the election board for many years. She was recently elected to serve as the clerk of Adrian Township and the Republican Committee Woman for the township. Eudora was a member of the Monday quilt group that started as the Presbyterian woman and later ladies of the community. She was a crafter and had made over a hundred quilts for family, friends, and the Delia Bazaar. She helped with concessions at many auctions. Eudora was a member of Delia Pride and a past member of the Eastern Star. Eudora Eakin and Harold McQueen were united in marriage on October 18, 1952, at the Circleville Christian Church. He preceded her in death on March 2, 2009. Eudora was also preceded by her parents, her twin brother Edward Eakin and her sister Ivaleu Miller. Survivors include her sons, Lee (Patty) McQueen, Kearney, NE and Glen McQueen, Delia; her daughter, Denise (Paul) Virgadamo, New Port Richey, FL; three grandchildren, Megan McQueen, Kansas City, MO, Kurt McQueen, Benton, AR, and Gwen McKay, Oakland, CA. Funeral services were Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at the Delia Presbyterian Church. Burial followed in the Delia Cemetery.
