    HOWARD JACKSON BERKLEY
    TESCOTT — Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the United Methodist Church at Tescott for Howard Jackson Berkley, 70, Tescott, who died Thursday at a Salina hospital.
    He was with the Bank of Tescott 45 years.
    He was born Jan. 13, 1899, in rural Lincoln County, and operated a grain business at Quinter and Bunker Hill until 1924, when he moved to Tescott and began work at the bank.
    He was chairman of the boards of banks at Tescott, Stockton, Downs, BenŽnington and Talmadge.
    He was a member of the United MeŽthodist Church, was a 32nd-Degree MaŽson, and was a member of the ISIS Shrine, Quinter Masonic Lodge No. 410, AF&AM, and the American Legion, all at Tescott.
    Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Paulina Berkley, at home; his mother, Mrs. Clara Mae Berkley; Salina; a daughter, Mrs. Arliene Matthews, Tescott; seven sons, Jack B. Berkley, Stockton; Robert B. Berkley, Salina; Jerry J. Berkley and Paul D. Berkley, both of Downs; Hal J. Berkley, Tescott; Don H. Berkley, Abilene, and Kent M. Berkley, BenningŽton; four sister, Mrs. Fannie Traulsen, Lincoln; Mrs. Minnie Rosser, Holton; Mrs. Ruth Suelter, Salina, and Mrs. Helen Webb, Solomon; four brothers, Fred Berkley and Robert Berkley, both of Tescott, and Joe D. Berkley and Harold R. Berkley, both of Bennington, and 26 grandchildren.
    Burial will be in Franklin Cemetery at Tescott. Memorial contributions may be made to Tescott United Methodist Church or to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, both at Tescott.
    Friends may call at Hall Mortuary, Lincoln, after 4 p.m. Saturday.
