William F. Bowers, Jr., 40, World war veteran and resident of Silver Lake, died suddenly from a heart attack suffered at his home Tuesday. Bowers, who fought overseas with Battery A, of the 130th Field Artillery, was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic church at St. Marys, and of the American Legion.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mae Bower, and nine children of the home; his father, William Bower, sr. of St. Marys; a brothers, C.J. Bower of St. Louis, Mo., and a sister, Mrs. S.E. Dalto of St. Louis, Mo.
Funeral services were held today at 2:30 p.m. at St. Marys, with the American Legion in charge.
