Miss Cyndi Pugh became the bride of Joe Harmon in a double-ring ceremony Saturday, August 11, 1979, at 2 p.m. in the United Methodist Church in Rossville. The Reverend Larry Buss officiated.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Pugh, Rossville, and Mr. and Mrs. George Harmon, Altamont.

Mrs. Janice Sharp played the organ music and accompanied Miss Sherri Gabbert as she sang, “Annie’s Song,” “The Wedding Song,” and “The Lord’s Prayer.”

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a bouffant wedding gown of Chantilly lace and sheer gauze which featured a big effect bodice of lace and pearls with a high neckline of lace. Bishop-sleeves of Chantilly lace-had wide lace motif cuffs. A softly gathered skirt of self fabric edged with Chantilly lace over a Chantilly lace flounce swept into a full chapel length train.

On her head was a Chantilly lace picture hat of ruffles with a waltz length train.

A bouquet of wilk pink roses, blue daisies, and white Star of Bethlehem flowers edged in white lace with white satin streamers completed her ensemble. For “something old,” the bride wore her great-great-grandmother’s engagement ring.

Miss Terra Rhoden, WaKeeney, cousin of the bride, was her maid of honor. Terra wore a pink and white checked gingham gown with a square neckline and puffed sleeves. She wore a white picture hat and carried a bouquet of white roses and blue daisies.

Christina Janney, El Dorado, cousin of the groom, was the flower girl. She wore a pink and white checked gingham gown and carried a basket of rose petals.

Shawn Moses, Rossville, was ring bearer and carried the rings on a white satin pillow edged in lace. He wore a three piece blue and white pin-striped suit with a white carnation tinged in pink boutonniere.

The groom wore a white tuxedo with tails, a white ruffled shirt and a pink rose boutonniere.

Mr. Larry Steenbring, Jetmore, was best man. He wore a light blue tuxedo with a white-edged-in-pink carnation boutonniere.

Scott Pugh and Bill Pugh, brothers of the bride, were ushers.

Mrs. Janet Pugh, sister-in-law of the bride, was in charge of the guest book.

A reception was held in the church basement. Helping at the reception were Mrs. Betsy Steenbring, Jetmore; Miss Janice Rezac, Silver Lake; Miss Linda Summerfield, Chanute; and Mrs. Janet Pugh, Topeka.

The bride and groom are graduates of Neosho Junior College in Chanute. They will live in Stillwater, Okla., where the groom is attending Oklahoma State University.
