    The marriage of Edna Inez, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T.H. Emert and Clyde Monroe, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.V. Hook was solemnized at the home of the bride Saturday evening, Dec. 18th the Rev. H.L. Nelson officiating.

    At eight o'clock the bride and groom entered the parlor unattended while Miss Scholeskle played Mendelsohn wedding march. The ring ceremony was used. The bride looked beautiful in her princess gown of white messaline carrying an armful of white carnations.

    The rooms were tastefully decorated in holly, pink and white carnations, giving a very pleasing effect.

    Immediately after the ceremony an elaborate dinner was served after which a number of musical selections were rendered.

    Mr. and Mrs. Hook will be at home after January 1st at Junction City, Mr. Hook being employed as bookkeeper at the Post-Commissary at Ft. Riley.

    Mr. and Mrs. John L. Pearl were pleasantly surprised at their home Sunday evening, March 16, by their friends and neighbors. The occasion was in celebration of their 25th wedding anniversary.

    Celebrate Golden Anniversary


    Mr. and Mrs. John L. Pearl of St. Marys will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary with an open house on Sunday, March 6, at the Centennial Building in St. Marys.

    Hosts will be their children, Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Pearl and family of Bartlesville, Okla., and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Lynde and family of Rossville.

    Friends and relatives are invited to call between 2 and 4 p.m. No invitations have been issued and the couple requests no gifts.

    Mr. and Mrs. Pearl were both born in Rossville Township and lived since their marriage on the same farm for 48 years, moving to St. Marys October 1, 1964.

    They were married in Kansas City, Kansas, March 7, 1916. There are six grandchildren.

    Mr. Pearl served on the Rossville Township board for 22 years. Mrs. Pearl was a member of Rossville HDU for 25 years and she was also a member of the Literary and Music Circle for a number of years.

    Mrs. Edna Pearl
    ST. MARYS - Mrs. Edna Inez Pearl, 87, St. Marys, died Friday morning at a St. Marys nursing home where she had lived an extended time.

    She was born Dec. 5, 1888, in Rossville. She lived most of her life three miles west of Rossville, until she moved to St. Marys in 1964.

    She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the E.H.U., both at St. Marys, and the Rossville Literary and Music Circle.

    She was married to Clyde M. Hook on Dec., 1909. He died in May; 1913. She later married John Pearl on March 7, 1916. He survives.

    Other survivors include a son, John Kenneth Pearl, Dickinson. Tex.: a daughter. Mrs. Ethelyn Lynde. Rossville; six grandchildren and four great¬grandchildren.

    Services will lie at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Marys. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

    Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys.
