Mr. and Mrs. Don Raine will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Parish Hall in Maple Hill.
Don Raine and Betty Beseau were married May 18, 1940 in Rossville. He operates Raine Hardware and she is a retired Postmaster. They have one son, Kent Raine, New York, N.Y.; and one grandson.

MAPLE HILL — Betty R. Raine, 74, Maple Hill, died Monday, Aug. 12,1996, at her home.
She was born Feb. 26, 1922, in St. Marys, the daughter of Harry Wilfred and Mary Frances Smith Beseau. She was graduated from St. Marys High School in 1939. She spent many years in Maple Hill where she was postmaster from 1974 until 1983 when she retired. She had worked for the Post Office since 1959. She was a broker for Whited-Raine Realtors in Topeka many years.
She was a member of Community Con-gregational Church and the auxiliary to James Elmer Romick Post No. 130 of the American Legion, both in Maple Hill, Loyal Chapter No. 176 of Order of Eastern Star in Silver Lake, and Retired Postmasters.
She was a volunteer at St. Francis Hospital and a tour guide at the Kansas Historical Museum, both in Topeka.
She was married to Donald H. Raine May 18, 1940, in Rossville. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Kent Raine, Maple Hill; a brother, Don Beseau, St. Marys; a sister, Janice Fryberger, Clinton, Mo.; and a grandson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Community Congregational Church in Maple Hill. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Raine will lie in state from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys where visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care.
