Euna U. Cummings, age 85, of Meriden passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at a Topeka care home. She was born January 15, 1924 in Wauneta, KS the daughter of Eldon Davis and Bertha Canfield Davis. She graduated from Sedan High School. She had attended Assumption Catholic Church. Euna and her husband owned and operated Cummings Service Station. She worked as a seamstress for Topeka Tent & Awning and as a housekeeper at Motel 6. She married John Cummings November 28, 1944 in Los Angeles, CA. John preceded her in death in 1989. An infant daughter, Donna Sue Cummings preceded her in death in 1963. She is survived by seven sons, John Cummings (Andrea) and James Cummings (Linda) of Meriden, Dan Cummings (Therese) of Rockwall, TX, Leo Cummings (Julie) and Andy Cummings of Topeka, Charles Cummings (Marsha) of Netawaka, George Cummings (Geri) of Berryton; three daughters, Mary Corkhill of Manassas, Virginia, Carol Runnebaum (Dan) of Carbondale and Janice Long of Topeka; two sisters, Alta Tevis of Casper, WY and LaVerne Ward of Los Angeles, CA; 29 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, March 23, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Meriden. Interment will follow the Hoyt Catholic Cemetery. She will lie in state Sunday from 1:00 8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home where a rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. The family will receive friends following the rosary. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.
