The dinner was given at the home of Mrs. Roxie Nadeau. She was born October 8, 1915 in Westmoreland, KS, the daughter of George and Ethel (Lister) Mitchell. She was employed as a Food Service Manager for Rossville and later Silver Lake School Districts. She was a former member of Rossville United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was a current member of Silver Lake United Methodist. She had volunteered for the Kansas Museum of History and was very active in the Silver Lake Senior Citizen Center. Roxie married Paul Edward Nadeau in 1935 in Lyndon, KS. He passed away in 1958. She married Darwin Banta in 1965 in Ross¬ville. He passed away in 1981. Survivors include 7 children, Jeanette (Gerald) Lister, Edmond, OK, Jean (Richard) Holzmeister, Lawrence, KS, Sally Carnevale, San Mateo, CA, Susan Nadeau, Shawnee, KS, Michael (Claudia) Nadeau, Silver Lake, KS, David (Gay) Nadeau and Dennis Nadeau, Rossville, KS; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and a sister, Ruby Adams, Portland, OR. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, 4 sisters, and 2 grandchildren.
