A reception in the Lecompton City Hall Sunday, April 20 will honor Mr. and Mrs. John Wyatt, Lecompton, who will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary April 22. Friends and relatives are invited to call from 2 to 4 pm.
Mr. and Mrs. Wyatt have lived in Lecompton the past 20 years and Mr. Wyatt has worked in Topeka most of his married life. They have 12 children, 40 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The reception will be given by
their children and their families. The children are: Howard Wyatt, Wichita, Glen Wyatt, Bellevue, Neb.; Duane Wyatt, Lawrence; Mrs. Dale Farrell, Mrs. Al Nocktonick, Mrs. William Ostrander, Mrs. Loren Green, Mrs. Dan Schloetzer, Marion Wyatt, Lloyd Wyatt, James Wyatt, and Robert Wyatt.

Mr. and Mrs. John Wyatt, Lecompton, will observe their golden wedding anniversary with a reception at the Lecompton city hall Sunday April 20 from 2 to 4 p.m. The Wyatts are former residents of Jackson county. They have 12 children, 40 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
The children include Mrs. Dale (Geneva) Farrell, Mrs. A1 (Marge) Nocktonick, Mrs. William (Lovien) Ostrander, Marion Wyatt, Lloyd Wyatt, Mrs. Loren (June) Green, James Wyatt, and Mrs. Don (Joyce) Schlodtzer, all of Topeka; R. G. Wyatt, address unknown, Howard Wyatt, Wichita; Glen Wyatt, Belvue, Nebraska; and Duane Wyatt, Lawrence.

Marion Otis Wyatt, “MOW” 90, of Silver Lake, passed away on March 28, 2023 at Midland Care with his family by his side.
Mow was born on March 31, 1932 to John Robert Wyatt and Flossie Mabel (Graham) Wyatt in Delia, Kansas. He was #7 of 12 children. He graduated from Lecompton High School in 1950. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served our great country from 1951-1955. On September 28, 1958, he married Marian Elizabeth Elliott in Hartford, Kansas. Together they raised 4 children; Joe, Kathy, Sandy, and Clint.
He was the owner of Double Diamond Insulation and Drywall from 1977 until he retired in 1999. After retiring, he bought land and built a house in the country. He enjoyed attending auctions, tinkering on old vintage cars and tractors, hunting and fishing, gardening, cutting and splitting wood for his big roaring fires. The garage was the place for many hours of storytelling. He loved being outdoors! You could always find him driving his tractor with a great big SMILE. He was a member of the Model A Car Club.
Mow is survived by his loving wife, Marian of 64 years. One brother Lloyd Wyatt, 3 Children, Kathy (Allen) Miller, Sandy Meier (Jerry Bergman), and Clint (Bonnie) Wyatt; 5 Grandchildren, Shyler Meier (Grae Wilbanks), Jacob Wyatt, Jena (Andrew) Norman, Danielle Brandle, and Spencer Meier; great grandchildren, Gauge, Logan, Jace, and Harley Norman. Step grandchildren, Zac Wichman, Kelli Wichman, and one step great-grandchild Jayla Benton.
He was preceded in death by 10 siblings; Geneva, Margie, Bud, Loveign, Glen, Howard, Duane, June, Jim, Joyce. His son, Joe Wyatt; son in-law, Shane Meier (Sandy) and grand-daughter in-law Danielle Wyatt (Jacob).
A Visitation was held on Friday, March 31, 2023 at Parker Price Funeral Home. A Memorial service followed at 12:00 pm. Lunch will be provided at the reception center following the memorial service. |
