    Mr. and Mrs. Roy McClain announce the marriage of their eldest daughter, Letha, to Mr. Harold T. Reser, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Monterville Reser.

    The wedding ceremony was performed at the Riley, Kansas, Methodist parsonage by the Rev. Wright M. Horton.

    The bridal attendants were the bridegroom’s sister and brother, Miss Rosalie Reser and Mr. Lawrence Reser.

    The bride was lovely in a frock of soldier-blue silk crepe with wine, accessories. She wore a shoulder corsage of talisman roses. Her only ornament was a gold and crystal necklace.

    Mr. and Mrs. Reser left immediately after the wedding for a short honeymoon trip to points in Nebraska, Iowa and Missouri.

    Mrs. Reser is a graduate of the Rossville high school, and for the past two years was assistant postmaster in the Rossville post office.

    Mr. Reser is a progressive young farmer in the Rossville community.

    Mr. and Mrs. Reser will be at home to their friends on the farm west of town.

    Mr. and Mrs. Harold T. Reser, Rossville, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 5 p.m. Oct. 7 at Rossville Christian Church, 411 Spruce St.

    Hosting the occasion will be their children: Sharon Nickols, Urbana, Ill., and Lillian Kellner, Munich, Germany.

    Harold Taft Reser and Letha McClain were married Oct. 5, 1940, in Riley. Mr. Reser is a retired farmer and Mrs. Reser is retired from the United States Postal Service.

    ROSSVILLE - Letha V. Reser, 88, of Rossville, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, in Athens, Ga. A resident of Rossville since childhood, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Harold T. Reser. She was born Aug. 31, 1916, in Morgan County, Ky., the daughter of Eva Trimble McClain and Roy McClain. She was the eldest daughter in a family of eight. Surviving her are three sisters, Nancy Preble, Mesa, Ariz., Mazie Gooderl, Hoyt, and Barbara Grubach, Red Wood Valley, Calif.; and one brother, Luther McClain, Rossville. Also surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Sharon Y. and Sam Nickols, Athens, Ga., and their four children, Douglas Nickols, Fairview, Texas, Rusty Nickols, Coppell, Texas, Shelly Nickols-Richardson, Blacksburg, Va., and Matthew Nickols, Sachse, Texas, and Lillian K. and Werner Kellner, and Evi Fichtner, Schoenau, Germany; seven great¬grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Rossville Christian Church, with burial following in Rossville Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Piper Funeral Chapel in Rossville. Memorial gifts may be made to Reser Memorial Youth Fund, Rossville Christian Church.

    Letha V. Reser
    Letha V. Reser, 88, died Saturday, December 4, 2004, in Athens, GA She was born in Morgan County, KY, the daughter of Roy and Eva Trim¬ble McClain, and was the eldest daughter in a family of eight.
    Mrs. Reser was a member of Rossville Christian Church, where she served as Sunday School Super¬intendent for many years and taught youth Sunday School classes. She completed the Menninger Bible Study Course. Mrs. Reser was a com¬munity volunteer and leader for the Rossville 4-H Club, supervising the 4-H cooking projects for over 20 years. She served on the Rossville School Board. She resided the last five years in Athens, GA.
    She was married to Harold T. Re¬ser. They were married 55 years at the time of his death.
    Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Y. Nickols, Athens, GA, and Shelly Richardson, Blacksburg, VA; three sisters, Nancy Preble, Mesa, AZ, Mazie Gooderl, Hoyt, Barbara Grubach, Red Wood Valley, CA; one brother, Luther McClain, Rossville; grandchildren and great-grandchil¬dren.
    Her service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Rossville Christian Church. Burial will be in the Ross¬ville Cemetery. Family visitation is from 6:00 to 7:30 Friday at Piper Fu¬neral Chapel in Rossville.
