DELIA — Kennett David Bawden, 68, rural Delia, died Thursday, March 2, 1995, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Bawden was a test room techni¬cian for AT&T for more than 26 years. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and in the Air Force during the Korean War.
He was born June 5, 1926, in Enid, Okla., the son of George Allen Sr. and Flossie Marian Kennett Bawden. He was graduated from Classes High School in Oklahoma City and attended Oklahoma City University. He had lived in St. Marys from 1980 to 1993 before he moved to Delia.
Mr. Bawden was a member of One Holy Roman Catholic Church and the Phi Chi Fraternity. He was a life mem¬ber of the John Birch Society.
He was married to Clara Barton on Jan. 16, 1948, in Oklahoma City. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Pope Michael "David" Bawden, Delia, and Brian Bawden, Emmett; a sister, Virginia Force, Jackson, Miss.; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Della Cemetery. Mr. Bawden will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at the Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to Unity and Faith and sent in care of the funeral home.
