  Documents		Marriage- Strimple, Viola-McClain, Vencille Strimple-McClain The Chicaskia Baptist Church at Harper, Kansas, was the scene of a lovely mid-summer wedding, Sunday Aug. 4, at 12 o'clock, when Miss Viola Strimple of Rossville, Kansas, became the bride of Mr. Vencille McClain, also of Rossville. The Rev. V.H. Bailey officiated at the single ring ceremony at the close of the morning service. The altar was beautifully decorated with ferns and flowers. Miss Dorothy Hall, pianist, accompanied Mrs. Clayton Weaver and Mr. Harold Litsey who sang "I Love You Truly." She also played the traditional wedding march. The bride was attractively costumed in Navy blue sheer ensemble with white accessories. A delightful two-course luncheon was served in the parsonage following the ceremony in the church, by Mrs. V.H. Bailey and daughters, Deane and Victoria. A three-tiered bride's cake topped by a miniature bride and groom decorated the center of the table. Mr. McClain is the nephew of Mrs. Bailey. The young couple departed on a wedding trip to Colorado following the luncheon, after which they will be at home with their friends near Topeka, Kansas, where Mr. McClain is employed as teacher for the coming year. The guests present at the luncheon were Rev. and Mrs. V.H. Bailey, Deane, Victoria and Eugene, Mr. Neal Hudson, Mr. Walter Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Hermes Weibii of Lehigh, Kansas, Mr. and Mrs. W.W. • Documents		Obituary- McClain, Vencille 1 Vencille McClain (corrected copy of obituary appearing in issue of 12/31/85) Funeral services were held December 30, at Cowan-Edwards-Yorgensen Funeral Home, Manhattan, for Vencille McClain, 72, who passed away Friday, December 27, 1985, at the College Hill Nursing Center in Manhattan. Mr. McClain was born February 28, 1914, in Lenox, Ky., the son of Roy and Eva Trimble McClain. He was educated in the Rossville schools, Emporia and Washburn colleges. He was a teacher and salesman. He was a veteran of World War II. Mr. McClain was married in 1940 to the former Viola Strimple. They were the parents of two sons. She died July 22, 1982. His survivors include two sons, Arlan McClain, Dixon, Ill., and Dr. Eldon McClain, Ocean Springs, Miss.; two brothers, Thornton McClain and Luther McClain, both of Rossville; four sisters, Mrs. Mazie Gooderl, Hoyt, Mrs. Nancy Preble, Mesa, Ariz., Mrs. Barbara Casto, Ukiah, Calif., and Mrs. Harold Reser, Rossville; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ora McClain. In 1984, he married Mrs. Lillian Ball Nichols at Living Water Ranch, Olsburg. She survives. Burial was in the Rossville City Cemetery.

He was married to Lillian Ball June 1, 1984, at Living Water Ranch, Olsburg. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Dr. Eldon McClain, Ocean Springs, Miss., and Arlan McClain, Dixon, Ill.; two stepsons, Bill Nichols, Topeka, and Dale Nichols, Eureka Springs, Ark.; four sisters, Mrs. Mazie Gooderl, Hoyt, Mrs. Nancy Treble, Mesa, Ariz., Mrs. Barbara Casto, Ukiah, Calif., and Mrs. Letha Reser, Rossville; two brothers, Thornton McClain and Luther McClain, both of Rossville; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
