Mrs. Don Stockman holds Jared Warren, wearing the baptismal dress which has been worn by 29 other children and grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. F.P. Stockman. Also pictured is the cradle in which the 30 Stockman babies have been rocked to sleep.

    Worn at many baptisms

Thirty babies have worn the same baptismal dress and have been rocked in the same wooden cradle.

Latest in the line is Jared Warren Stockman, pictured above with his mother, Mrs. Don Stockman, Rossville.

The dress, worn by Jared Warren, was bought years ago for the baptism of Mr. and Mrs. F.P. Stockman's oldest son, Ted. Since, ti has been worn by each of Mr. and Mrs. Stockman's other 12 children; the five children of Bob Stockman; the six of Leo Stockman; Don's four; and Mrs. Frances Carlson's two.

The Stockman children and grandchildren also spent the first months of their lives in the cradle, which has an interesting history.

The cradle was brought from Belgium by Prof. Arthur Ghysbrecht, teacher of violin at St. Mary's College many years ago. When Professor Ghysbrecht and his family returned to Belgium, the cradle was purchased by the late Mr. and Mrs. Ted Stockman, parents of F.P. Stockman.

Mrs. F.P. Stockman laughingly remarks that the baptismal dress, which has stood up well under so many baptisms, was originally purchased from a mail order house.

Jared Warren was baptised this last Mother's Day.
