Mr. and Mrs. Viergiver are both graduates of the Rossville High school. Mrs. Viergiver taught the past year at Twin Rose school. He is one of the prosperous young farmers of the community, and the young couple will be at home on the Viergiver farm near Willard, following a short honeymoon at Parsons, Kansas.

  		Obituary- Viergever, Robert W. Robert W. “Bob” Viergever, 90, Willard, KS, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at his home. He was born August 1, 1929 in Willard, Kansas to Joe Honas and Glades (Brooks) Viergever. He graduated from Rossville High School in 1947. In June of 1949 Bob joined the Marines and was awarded a Purple Heart after being injured in Korea. He was honorably discharged in October of 1950. He worked at Wagner Construction in Topeka, retiring in 1992. Bob was a member of American Legion Post No. 31 in Rossville and Carpenter’s Union in Topeka. On March 28, 1952 he married Doris Myers in Topeka. She preceded him in death May 29, 1999. He was also preceded in death by his parents and brother, Max Viergever (58). Bob is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Shirley; children, Jan (Don) Dolezilek, Dover; Jay (Sue) Viergever, Overbrook; and Joy (Rick) Davis of Rossville; grandchildren, Haven (Eric) Byrne, Tanner (Jenny) Davis, Trace (Erin) Davis, Bethany (Dan) Ensle, Devin (Caitlyn) Viergever, Dalton (Rene) Viergever and Ashton Ketterman; 13 great-grandchildren; step-children, Bryce (Kelly) Benedict, Topeka; Dennis (Donna) Benedict, Illinois; Linda Benedict, Silver Lake; Diana Sabatino, Texas; grandsons, Matt, Nick, Daniel, Michael, Brett and Chris; and 4 great-grandchildren. Services will be 1:00 pm Monday, October 7, 2019 at Parker-Price Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka. Burial with military honors will follow at Rossville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 6, 2019 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post No. 31, P.O. BOX 338, Rossville, KS 66533.
