    Darryl and Freda Little, Silver Lake, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary at a family dinner from 1:30 to 3:30 pan, today at the Silver Lake Senior Center, 404 E. Lake in Silver Lake. Friends are invited to come and visit.

    Darryl Little and Freda Gibler were married Feb. 20,1935, in Bethany, Mo.

    Hosts will be their children, Stanley and Dixie Little, Topeka; Meredith Domme, Amarillo, Texas; James Little, Silver Lake; and Sue and Brad Haynes, Topeka. The couple have nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

    Mr. Little is a retired farmer.

    Mrs. Little worked at Macy’s. She is a homemaker.

    To celebrate 50th anniversary
    The children and grandchildren of Stanley and Dixie Little invite friends and family to a 50th anniversary celebration on Saturday, April 15 at the Citizen Band Potawatomi Center in Rossville.

    Stan and Dixie were married on April 15, 1956 in Bethany, Mo.

    The couple will renew their vows at 5 p.m. with music following. A light buffet will be served at 6 p.m. No gifts, please.

    Obituary- Little, Stanley
    Stanley LeRoy Little
    Stanley LeRoy Little, 87, of Rossville, Kansas passed away on March 10th, 2023. Stan was born January 18th, 1936 in Harrison County, MO to Darryl & Freda (Gibler) Little. He graduated from Bethany High School in 1953. In 1956, Stan moved to Silver Lake, KS and later married his wife of 67 years, Dixie Preston. Together they had three children.

    Stan was a lifelong farmer. After being born on a farm, Stan continued farming in Jackson County, KS. A self-proclaimed diversified farmer, Stan grew many varieties of crops, and raised all kinds of livestock. While he retired from farming in 2000, he stayed very active in the farming community. Stan served on the boards of The Jackson County Livestock Association, Production Credit Association, and earned awards from The Jackson County Soil Conservation Association. He also restored tractors and was a founding member of Grove Harvest Grange.

    After retirement, Stan continued to work various jobs around the farming community. Since 1954, Stan was a member of Silver Lake United Methodist Church; serving on multiple committees, singing in the choir and delivering children’s sermons.

    Preceding Stan in passing are his parents. He is survived by his Wife, Dixie; three children, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and two more great-grandchildren on the way.

    Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 14th at Silver Lake United Methodist Church, 204 Madore St, Silver Lake, KS 66539. A funeral service followed with burial taking place at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
