| Obituary- Barney, Irene Mrs. Irene Barney
Mrs. Irene Franz Barney, 80, 1611 High, died Thursday at a Topeka hospi¬tal after a short illness.
She was born July 5, 1899, northeast of St. Marys in the Adrian community, the daughter of J.C. and Anna Brown Franz. She lived in Topeka most of her life.
Mrs. Barney was a member of Low¬man United Methodist Church, Home¬builders Sunday School Class, Amaryl¬lis Chapter No. 321, Order of Eastern Star, all at Rossville; Kansas Mayflow¬er Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, Kansas Wildflower Society and the YWCA. She attended Emporia State Teachers College.
She married Earl Barney Aug. 10, 1921, at Topeka. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Dr. J.E. Barney, Avon, Conn., and Dr. Duane Barney, Naperville, Ill.; a sis¬ter, Eva Oleson, West Palm Beach, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Memorial con¬tributions may be made to the Kansas Heart Association, 5229 W. 7th, Topeka 66606.
