    HENRY C. PELFREY
    Henry C. Pelfrey, was born at West Liberty, Kentucky, December 23rd, 1870, and departed this life at the home of his son, Everett, September 15, 1950, at the age of 79 years, 8 months and 23 days.

    He was married to Lodesca McClain June 1, 1893 and to this union two children were born, Everett and Ethel.

    Mr. Pelfrey resided in Morgan county, Kentucky, until he moved to Rossville in 1921.

    He was a good husband, a kind father and was loved and respected by all who knew him. He was always doing kind and helpful deeds to those who were in need.

    He was a devoted Christian since the time of his conversion and baptism and was a member of the Christian Church.

    He leaves to mourn his departing, his wife, Lodesca; two sons, Roy and Everett of Rossville; a daughter, Mrs. V. H. Bailey, of Littleton, Colorado; fifteen grandchildren; 19 great¬grandchildren; a host of relatives and friends

    Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, September 17, at 2:30 at the Christian Church with the pastor, Maurice Graham officiating.

    Music was furnished by Mrs. Lorene Harth and Mrs. Maxine Trimble, with Mrs. Irene Campbell accompanist at the piano.

    Pallbearers were all grandchildren of the deceased including: Luther McClain, Thornton McClain, Vencille McClain, Harold Reser, Walter Preble and Gene Pelfrey.

    Burial was in Rossville City Cemetery.

    Out-of-town relatives and friends in Rossville, Sunday to attend the funeral service of H.C. Pelfrey were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Green, Richland, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. H.C. McClain, George Link, Jack Parr, Mr. and Mrs. Haney, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Casto, of Topeka; Rev. and Mrs. V.H. Bailey of Littleton, Colo; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smith of Silver Lake; and Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Gooderl of Hoyt.

    CARD OF THANKS – We are sincerely grateful to everyone for the many expressions of sympathy and acts of kindness to us during the long illness and death of our loved one H.C. Pelfrey and for the beautiful floral offerings.

    H.C. Pelfrey, who has been ailing for some time was taken to St. Francis Hospital Monday for observation and treatment.

    Rev. and Mrs. Victor Bailey left Rossville, Tuesday, for their home in Littleton, Colo., after being called here by the death of her father, H.C. Pelfrey.
