    CLARA HELEN BARTON
    Mrs. Clara Helen Barton, 91, St. Marys, died Wednesday, January 22, 1986, at St. Marys Manor.

    Mrs. Barton taught in Texas schools before she was married.

    She was born October 11, 1894, at Carneiro on the Homischer Farm where the famous “Mushroom Rock’* is located. She was the daughter of John Frank and Josephine Koegler Hornischer. She lived in St. Marys the past six years. She lived in Oklahoma City from 1942 to 1980.

    Mrs. Barton was a member of the Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, the Altar Society, Legion of Mary and Third Order of St. Francis, all in Oklahoma City.

    She was married to Harold J. Barton October 6, 1919, at Hilje, Tex. He died August 15, 1968.

    Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Erma Hoffman, Oklahoma City, Mrs. Clara “Tickie” Bawden, St. Marys, Sister Ann Barton, Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, Leavenworth, and Mrs. Virginia Gravatt, West Milford, N.J.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Hardey, Los Alamos, N.M., Mrs. Frances Shaw, Mount Pleasant, Tex., and Mrs. Marguerite Schubert, Woodsboro, Tex., 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

    Services were Monday in Resurrection Cemetery Chapel at Oklahoma City. A rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys.
