    Mr. and Mrs. Harvey P. Brooks of Great Falls, Montana, announce the engagement of their daughter, Marla, to Larry Bowers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence A. Bowers, Delia.

    Miss Brooks, a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Great Falls, is a senior student nurse at Columbus School of Nursing.

    Mr. Bowers is a graduate of Delia High school and is employed by the Montana State Highway Department. He is a member of the Marine Corps Reserve.

    The Rev. H. B. Altman officiated at the nuptial Mass and double-ring marriage ceremony which united Marla Marie Brooks and Mr. Lawrence A. Bowers Jr., both of Great Falls, Montana.

    The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey P. Brooks, 716 2nd Ave., S.W., Great Falls. The bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence A. Bowers Sr., Delia.

    For the rite at St. Joseph’s Church the bride chose a traditional gown of silk-faced peau de soie and Belgium lace. The sculptured bodice had a neckline embellished with lace and simulated pearls. The full skirt had deep pleats, a chapel train and double bows at the back. Her shoulder-length circular veil was caught to an Elizabethan crown of pearls. She carried a shower bouquet of butterfly orchids, stephanotis and ivy.

    Her maid of honor, Carolyn Penberthy, and bridesmaid, Paula Kalanick, wore sheath dresses of peau satin in peacock shade. The full overskirts had back bows with streamers. Circlet, veils were attached to petal crowns trimmed with sequins. Tangerine carnations formed their bouquets. Diane Bowers, sister of the bridegroom, was flower girl. She was dressed Similar to the attendants.

    Best man was John Bowers, brother of the bridegroom. The groomsman was Brian Bowers who also served as usher with Patrick Murphy. Mrs. Jack Geisler was vocalist and Rory Bowers, organist.

    Guests attended a reception at the St. Joseph School after the ceremony. Assisting were Ann, Rose Mary and Michele Penberthy, Mrs. Robert Bowers Sr., Patricia Shen, Patty Bowers, and Patty Keller.

    Put of state guests included the bridegroom’s parents, and brother John; sisters Diane and Mrs. James Brennan and five daughters, St. Marys.

    The bride is a graduate of Great Falls Central High School and a Columbus School Of Nursing. She is employed at Columbus Hospital. Mr. Bowers was graduated from the Delia High School. He is a member of the Marine Corps Reserve, and is employed by the Montana Highway Department.
