    Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. VandeVelde of Emmett announce the engagement of their daughter, Iona K. Clark to Ronald L. Mulanax, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wilson, Omaha, Neb.

    Iona K. is also the daughter of the late Raymond R. Clark.

    Iona K. was graduated from St. Marys High School. She is presently employed by Day Care.

    Mr. Mulanax served two years in the U.S. Army, 14 months of which were in Viet Nam. He is employed by McCall Pattern Company, Manhattan.

    A July 15 wedding at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Emmett is planned.

    IONA K. CLARK WED TO RONALD MULANAX
    In an afternoon Saturday, July 15, Iona K. Clark was married to Ronald L. Mulanax. Iona is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. R. VandeVelde, Emmett, and the late Raymond L. Clark. Mr. Mulanax is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Wilson, Omaha, Nebr. The vows were exchanged at 2:00 p.m. in the Holy Cross Church in Emmett. Father Robert Hasenkamp performed the single ring service.

    The bride, given in marriage by Charles R. VandeVelde, was attired in a blue street-length linen dress with lace sleeves. White accessories complimented her outfit. Her bouquet was made of 2 dozen white roses centered with 6 red roses. A white pearl rosary was inserted in the flowers.

    Mrs. Charles R. VandeVelde served her daughter as Matron of Honor. She wore a turquoise sheath dress and a turquoise and silver lace coat. Her bouquet was 2 dozen red roses around a cluster of 6 white roses.

    Best man for Mr. Mulanax was his cousin, Mr. Lloyd Mulanax, Manhattan.

    Virginia McNeive, Emmett, was organist and accompanied Mrs. Ted McNieve, Emmett, who sang, “The Lord’s Prayer” and “Together With Love.”

    Marvin Clark, brother of the bride, and Kevin Devader, a cousin of the bride were altar boys. Commentator was Mr. James McGrath Serving as ushers were Jim VandeVelde and Kenneth VandeVelde, cousins of the bride, and Jim Barr, Wamego, and Dennis Knehler, Manhattan, friends of the couple.

    A reception in the church hall followed the ceremony. A beautiful 3-tiered cake, decorated in blue and white roses and topped with two bells, and two large sheet cakes were baked by Mrs. Leo Kennedy, Emmett.

    The cakes were served by Mrs. Myrtle McNieve, Emmett, and Mrs. Howard Mulanax, Manhattan. Mrs. Eddie Gaignet, Lenexa, and Mrs. Lloyd Mulanax, Manhattan, poured the punch.

    Mrs. Bennie VandeVelde, Topeka, aunt of the bride, Linda Wilson, Omaha, Nebr., sister of the groom, and Miss Goldia Bourm, a former teacher of the bride took care of the guest table.

    All attendants and servers wore red and white carnation corsages. The groom’s mother and grandmother and the bride’s grandmother all wore white carnation corsages.

    After the reception, the couple left for a week’s honeymoon trip. They are at home at 900 Colorado St. Manhattan, Ks.

    Mrs. Mulanax, a 1971 graduate of St. Marys High School, is employed at Day Care in Manhattan. Mr. Mulanax, who attended school in Nebraska and Delia, served in the Army for 2 years - 15 months of which was spent in Vietnam. He is employed by McCalls in Manhattan.
