| Anniversary- Stalker, Winfred and Anna Stalker Golden Wedding
Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Stalker celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary Sunday, August 13, 1950, at their home in Rossville. Mrs. Stalker was formerly Miss Anna Ward, daughter of pioneer farmers of Adrian, Mr. and Mrs. John Ward. She and Mr. Stalker were married at the home of her parents, with relatives and close friends present. They have resided in Jackson and Shawnee counties all their married life. They are the parents of five children, Mrs. Halcie Cerny of Rossville; Dr. Clinton L. Stalker of Topeka; Glen Stalker of Sacramento, Calif.; Mrs. Bess Lauck of Palo Alto, Calif.; and Capt. Orville Stalker of El Paso, Texas.
There was a beautiful three-tiered wedding cake with gold trimmings on a lovely lace tablecloth and bouquets of yellow roses and gladioli.
Mrs. Halcia Cerny poured at the punch bowl and Misses Edith and Marcia Cerny, granddaughters assisted. Marcia, dressed in an orchid formal, served and Edith, dressed in a blue formal had charge of the guest book.
Many nice gifts were received and a large number of cards. | Obituary- Stalker, Clinton Clinton L. Stalker
Dr. Clinton L. Stalker, DDS, Satanta, formerly of Topeka, died Monday, Feb. 3, 1992, at a Satanta nursing home.
Dr. Stalker, 86, was a dental surgeon in Topeka for 37 years before he retired in 1973. He was an oral surgery consultant at Topeka Veterans Administration Hospital and a former staff member of Stormont- Vail and St. Francis hospitals, all in Topeka.
He was born April 17, 1905, at Adrian, in Jackson County, the son of Winfred A. and Frances Anna Ward Stalker. He was graduated from Rossville High School and attended Kansas State Agricultural College for three years in Manhattan.
He later was principal of public schools at Willard, then in 1926 entered the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry at Philadelphia. He was graduated in 1930 with a degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery.
Dr. Stalker was a member and elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Topeka and attended the United Methodist Church in Satanta. He was a past member and officer of Shawnee County Dental Society, First District Dental Society and Kansas State Dental Association and a former member of American Dental Association.
He was married to Ruth Wilma Van Orsdol June 2, 1932, at Lawrence. She died Aug. 9, 1977. A son, Norman V. Stalker, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Clinton L. Stalker Jr., DVM, Satanta; a sister, Mrs. I.S. Lauch, Woodland, Calif.; a brother, Dr. F.O. Stalker, DDS, El Paso, Texas; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the United Methodist Church in Satanta. Later memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Westminster Presbyterian Church in Topeka. Private family graveside services will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church in Topeka, Multiple Sclerosis Society or Satanta Long Term Care Unit in care of Haskell County Funeral Home, P.O. Box 607, Sublette, 67877.
