    Miss Alice Cerny, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Cerny of Route one, and Mr. John Seitz of St. Marys, were united in marriage Wednesday morning, April 18, at 8:00 o'clock in Sacred Hearth church in Delia.

    Mrs. Seitz is a graduate of the Rossville high school who has only recently completed her second successful term as a school teacher.

    Alice Seitz
    Sis. Alice Marie Seitz, 62, passed away Aug. 30, 1969 at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka, Kansas. She was born July 21, 1907 in Rossville, Kans., the daughter of Thomas and Katherine Cerney, and lived in the Rossville and Delia communities all of her life. She was married to John J. Seitz in Delia April 19, 1928 at Sacred Heart Church. Sis. Seitz graduated from Rossville High School, attended Washburn University, and had taught 26 years. At the time of her death she was teaching the 1st and 2nd grades in Delia. She was a member of the Teachers Ass’n, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Funeral services were held Sept. 2, 1969 at Sacred Heart Church in Delia conducted by Father John Croughwell. Interment was in Mount Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Survivors are her husband, John J.; 2 sons, Donald J. and Jack C., both of Topeka; 2 sisters, Mrs. Emial (Carrie) Kovar of Rossville, Mrs. Wendell (Helen) Helms of Wichita, and 4 grandsons. Z.C.B.J. Lodge Moravan No. 128 of Rossville, Kansas extends sin¬cere sympathy to the bereaved family, and may our departed sister rest in peace.

    Alice Seitz
    Mrs. Alice Marie Seitz, 62, died Saturday in a Topeka hospital, where she was admitted Thursday night after she was shot twice following an argument with her husband at their home near the city limits of Delia.

    Mrs. Seitz was shot with a 12- gauge shotgun as she crouched in a plowed field near the home. Her husband, John J. Seitz, 67, turned the gun on himself following the shooting, witnesses told Don Collins, Holton, Jackson County sheriff.

    Mrs. Seitz suffered wounds to her chest and abdomen. Seitz suffered wounds to his left arm and chest and remained in critical condition Saturday night at St. Francis Hospital, where he is in the intensive care unit.

    The Jackson County sheriff said murder charges will be filed if Seitz survives.

    Mrs. Alice Seitz was born July 21, 1907, at Rossville and spent most of her life in the Delia and Rossville communities. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Delia, and the Altar Society at the church.

    She was a teacher, and had taught in schools in the Rossville and Delia communities 26 years.

    She was married to John J. Seitz April 19,1928, at Delia.

    Besides her husband, survivors include two sons, Donald J. Seitz, 420 The Drive, and Jack C. Seitz, 1421 N. Tyler; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie A. Kovar, Rossville, and Mrs. Helen E. Helms, Wichita, and four grandsons.

    Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Delia. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Scripture service will be at 8 p.m. Monday at Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys.

    Mrs. Seitz dies Saturday

    Mrs. Alice Marie Seitz, 62, of Delia, died Saturday in a Topeka hospital. She was born July 21, 1907, at Rossville and lived all her life in the Rossville-Delia area. She was married Apr. 19, 1928, to John J. Seitz at Sacred Heart Church in Delia.

    Mrs. Seitz was a graduate of Rossville High School and had attended Washburn University. She had taught 26 years in the two community schools, and this year, was teaching the first and second grades at the Delia Grade School.

    She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, and the Altar Society of the church.

    One brother, Henry C. Cerny, died Nov. 30, 1955.

    She is survived by her hus¬band, John J. Seitz, of the home; two sons: Donald J. Seitz and Jack C. Seitz, both of Topeka; two sisters; Mrs. Carrie A. Kovar, Rossville, and Mrs. Helen E. Helms, Wichita; and four grandsons.

    Services were held Tuesday from the Sacred Heart Church. Burial was made in Mount Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys, by the Verschelden Funeral Home.
