Mrs. Mary L. Eggleston
Mrs. Mary L. Eggleston, 67, Tope¬ka, died Sunday, June 12, 1988, at a Topeka hospital.
Mrs. Eggleston was a switchboard operator and clerk typist 40 years for Topeka State Hos¬pital before she retired June 20,
1982.
She was born June 22, 1920, at Rossville, the daughter of Albert and Rosa Young Bixby. She was graduated from Rossville High School and spent most of her life in the Rossville area.
Mrs. Eggleston was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church and the Eagles Lodge, both at Topeka.
She married Vern Eggleston Sept. 7, 1951, at Denver, Colo. He died June 28, 1972.
Survivors include three sisters, Ruby Freel and Melba Ziegler, both of Topeka, and Vernadell Macha, Delia; and a brother, Oscar Bixby, Rossville.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednes¬day at Otterbein United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mrs. Eggleston will lie in state after 5 p.m. today at Newcomer-Diffenderfer Funeral Home where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Otterbein United Methodist Church, 2915 W. 8th, 66604.
