    JOHN SLANSKY
    John Slansky, son of Joe and Anna Slansky, was born May 16, 1887, on a farm near Zurich and passed away January 9, 1959 in Plainville Rural hospital at the age of 71 years. John spent his entire life on his farm in the Zurich community. He was united in marriage to Frances Kovar December 20,1920. To them four children were born, Margaret, Earl, Vera and Violet. Mr. Slansky, although failing in health for the past several years, was a life-time member of the American Legion. In addition to his devotion to his family he maintained a genuine, kindly interest in people, which won him an uncountable number of friends.

    He is survived by his wife, Mrs.
    Frances Slansky, one son, Earl of the home; three daughters, Margaret of Topeka, Mrs. Vera Oder of Hobbs, New Mexico, Mrs. Violet Rohleder of Lakin, Kansas; eight grandchildren, two brothers, Joe and James of Plainville, one sister, Mrs. Bessie Bartos of Zurich. He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, three sisters and one brother.
