Wednesday at the priest's office in St. Marys, Miss Alice Hale of this city and Mr. J. Aubert of St. Marys were united in marriage.
They came to Rossville and spent the night at the home of C.M. Smith and wife south of town where they were charivaried in noisy style.
Miss Hale is one of Rossville's most estimable young ladies and the Reporter joins in wishing her abundant prosperity and happiness.
They will make their home near St. Marys. |

| Anniversary- Aubert, James and Henrietta 1 Golden Anniversary for Auberts
James and Henrietta Aubert, St. Marys, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, April 18, with a noon Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church. A reception, hosted by their children, will be held from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Centennial Building; a dance will begin at 8 p.m.
The 13 children of the couple are: Clyde, Marvin, and Fred Aubert, and Alice Bertels, St. Marys; Lucille Hines, Chapman; Mary Jean Kuehler, St. George; Mary Jane Akin, Silver Lake; Karen Johnson, Emmett; Charles Aubert (deceased); Louise Schutter, Emporia; Phyllis Sorrells and Delores Borders, Havensville; and John Aubert, Emmett. They have 32 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
James Aubert and Henrietta Hesse were married April 12,1948, in the Sacred Heart Church, Newbury, Paxico.
Mr. Aubert retired in 1988 from Topeka State Hospital. Mrs. Aubert is a homemaker.

To celebrate 60th wedding anniversary
James (Jim) and Henrietta Hesse Aubert, members of Immaculate Conception Church, St. Marys, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on April 13,2008.
A Mass of Thanksgiving will be held at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the St. Marys Senior Citizen Center. They request no gifts.
The couple was married at Sacred Heart Church, Paxico, April 12, 1948, with Father Florian Reichert officiating.
Their children and their spouses are: Clyde and Marlene Aubert, Marvin and Betty Aubert, Lucille and Ron Hines, Mary Jean and Dennis Kuehler, Mary Jane and Don Akin, Karen and Tom Johnson, Charles (deceased) and Jackie Aubert, Louise and Phil Schutter, Phyllis and Jesse Ortega, Fred and Ann Aubert, Delores Borders, Alice and Jerry Bertels, John and Anita Aubert.
They have 37 living grandchildren (three deceased) and 34 great-grand-children.

ST. MARYS- James Marvin Aubert, 82, St. Marys, died Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at his home.
He was born May 14, 1927 on a farm near St. Marys, the son of Joseph E. and Alice F. Hale Aubert. He had lived in the St. Marys community his whole life.
Mr. Aubert worked at Topeka State Hospital from 1952 until 1988. He dearly loved his family, cows and calves. Jim was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys and also was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 657.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Charles, two brothers, four sisters and three grandchildren.
On April 12, 1948 he was united in marriage to Henrietta Hesse at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newbury. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his children, Clyde (Marlene) Aubert, Marvin (Betty) Aubert, Fred (Ann) Aubert, Alice (Jerry) Bertels all of St. Marys, Karen (Tom) Johnson and John (Anita) Aubert all of j Emmett; Lucille (Ron) Hines, Chapman, Mary Jean (Dennis) Kuehler, St. George, Mary Jane (Don) Akin and Charles deceased (Jackie) Aubert, Silver Lake, Louise (Phillip) Schutter, Alma, Phyllis (Jesse) Ortega, Havensville and Delores (Karl) Sauvage, Onaga; 37 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Monday, October 12, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Mr. Aubert will lie in state from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. Sunday, October 11, 2009 at Piper Funeral Home and after 5:00 P.M. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where there will be a prayer vigil/rosary recited at 7:00 P.M.
