    SILVER LAKE MERCHANT
    DROPS DEAD IN STORE
    J. S. Kelley, a prominent merchant of
Silver Lake, dropped dead in his store
shortly after noon yesterday. He had
been in business in Silver Lake for the
last eighteen years. Heart failure was
the cause of death. He was 56 years old.

Mr. Kelley was apparently in good
health and had returned to his store
from dinner. He was standing near his
desk when he fell to the floor. A physician was summoned at once but the
stricken man died in a few minutes.

Mr. Kelley is survived by a widow, one
daughter, Miss Ellen Kelley, three sisters, Mrs. A. C. Bradley of Rossville,
Mrs. William Hook of Rossville and Mrs.
    C. L. Dolman of Topeka, and his mother,
Mrs. A. G. Magill, of Silver Lake.

He was a member of the Masonic lodge,
the Modern Woodmen of America and
the Eastern Star. Funeral arrangements have not been made.
