    Sedlacek-Bingham Vows
    Exchanged July 23 in Rossville

Regina Lynn Sedlacek became the bride of Douglas Adam Bingham in a double ring ceremony at 2:00 p.m. July 23, 1983, in the United Methodist Church in Rossville, with the Rev, Gene Damewood officiating.

Parents of the couple are Margaret Sedlacek, Topeka; Melvin Sedlacek, Marysville; Jerry and Janice Bingham, Rossville.

Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Bingham and Mrs. F.O. Mann, all of Iola.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of tiered chantilly lace over a hoop originally worn by the groom’s mother. The gown featured a chapel length train. She wore pearls belonging to the groom’s grandmother, Jean Mann, and lace pantaloons which were worn by the groom’s great-grandmother, the late Mrs. States Reynolds Scott of Neosho Falls. Regina carried a cascade bouquet of lavender and white roses with star flowers.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was Cindy Binkley, Topeka. Bridesmaids were Kay Schlegel, Manhattan; and Becky Roudybush, Marysville, niece of the bride. They wore lavender chantilly lace tiered gowns over hoops and carried bouquets of lavender roses and white carnations. Lisa Novotny, Beatrice, Nebr., niece of the bride, was the flower girl. She wore a dress of pink chantilly lace fashioned after the attendants’ dresses.

The groom wore a white tuxedo with tails and a lavender rose boutonniere.

Tad Christian, Rossville, served as best man. Groomsmen were Kurt Bingham and Jason Bingham, Rossville, brothers of the groom. They wore silver tuxedos with tails.

Candlelighters were Bret Mann, Iola, cousin of the groom, and Lance Stadler, Rossville. Seating the guests were Phillip Cantrell, Yates Center, cousin of the groom, Kevin Dick and Troy Raine, Rossville. Ring bearer was Travis Roudybush, Marysville, nephew of the bride. They all wore silver tuxedos.

The wedding music was provided by Janet Teeter, Rossville, and Darrin Wallace, Topeka. They were accompanied by Betty Schellar, Marysville, sister of the bride.

Peggy Perine, Topeka, sister of the bride, presided at the guest book. Jody Roudybush, Marysville, niece of the bride, presided at the gift table. Misty Mann, Iola, cousin of the groom, Mary Ann Roudybush and Cindy Novotny, Beatrice, Nebr., sisters of the bride, served as hostesses at the reception table.

Following the reception, a buffet dinner was held at the home of the groom’s parents. A dance was held that evening at the American Legion in Rossville.

After a short wedding trip, the couple will be at home in Manhattan, where both are students at Kansas State University. Regina is a computer science/accounting major and Douglas is majoring in geography.
