Miss Elsie Brooks, and Mr. Fred Startup were married Saturday afternoon at the M.E. parsonage, Rev. G.C. Albin, pastor of the Rossville Methodist church officiating.
Mrs. Startup is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Brooks of this city. She was a member of the 1928 class of the local high school and up until her marriage had been employed since the close of school at the Home Bakery. Mr. Startup is the son of J.C. Startup of Rossville and has grown to manhood in this vicinity. He is at present employed on bridge construction work with

Harry Startup and family of Topeka were here last Friday arranging for burial of the ashes of his brother, Fred Startup.
Fred 48, was killed August 28, in an auto accident near Hammond, Ind.
No one witnessed the accident so no details were available.
The deceased long had been connected with a construction company
He was a native son of Rossville community, his father being the late J. C. Startup.

Besides his wife, the former Elsie Brooks, he is survived by three children.
The body was cremated in Illinois and took a certain time before removal to Rossville.
