 | Marriage- Werner, Martha-Lambotte, Leogard A marriage of interest to a good many Topeka people was solemnized Wednesday evening at 8 o’clock when Miss Martha Ann Werner became the bride of Mr. Leogard Theodore Lambotte. The wedding took place at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Werner, 1258 Mulvane street. Rev. J. W. Waldron was the officiating clergyman. Miss Lizzie Howell played the Lohengrin wedding march. Oak leaves arid purple and white flowers were used in 1he decorations. The ceremony was performed before a large window m the parlor which was banked with ferns arid begonias. The background was of oak foliage. Strands of purple and white reached from the arch to the chandeliers. The reception room and the dining room were decorated in leaves and white chrysanthemums. The bride looked pretty in a gown of white bridal satin with a beaded yoke and trimming used to finish the short-sleeves, high waist, and panel front She carried a shower bouquet of bride roses and fern. Miss Clara B. Lambotte, sister of the bridegroom, was maid of honor. She looked charming in a gown of white French net trimmed in silk brail and beads and satin hands draped over white satin, worn with a pearl necklace set with diamonds. She carried a bouquet of pink roses and fern. The bride’s brother, Mr. Edward Werner, was best man. About 40 guests were present, those from out of town being from Dover. Auburn, Menoken and Delia. The bride is an accomplished young woman with many friends. Mr. Lambotte is in the employ of the Santa Fe. After a short visit to Mr. Lambotte’s sister, Mrs. Charles E. Mitchell, of Rossville, and his brother. Mr. Henry Lambotte, of Delia, they will return to Topeka and will be at home to their friends after November 6, at 1258 Mulvane street. They received some handsome gifts, among them a chest of silver from the bride’s parents. |

Martha A. Kaul, 81, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital. She was born on December 9, 1923 in Dover, the daughter of Leagard and Martha Warner Lambotte. She graduated from Dover High School. She was employed by R.C. Cannery in Kansas City, KS where she was president of the workers union. She moved to Topeka on August 30, 1957. She was a homemaker. She was a member of John Knox Church where she was a youth group leader. She married Olin E. Kaul on March 18, 1942 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1992. Survivors include two sons, Olin D. Kaul of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Kevin B. Kaul of Auburn, one grandson, Jacob Grant Kaul of Auburn and one brother, Eldon Lambotte of Fairview. Services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Monday at
Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Kaul will lie in state and the family will receive friends 7:00-8:00 Sunday evening. Memorial contributions may be given to the organization of the donors choice.
