Died August 18th, 1918. Age 73 Years. Burial at St. Clere.
Mrs. Lawrence Patterson passed away at her home in Emmett, Kans., Sunday night, August 18th, 1918, after a week's illness.
Louise Custer was born in Fountain County, Indiana, August 4th, 1845 and was 73 years of age at the time of her death.
On August 14th, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Patterson, and came to this country 47 years ago, residing on a farm near St. Clere until about seven years ago when they came to Emmett, where they have since resided.
To this union seven children, six daughters and one son, were born, six of whom are living, one daughter, Lilly Emma, having died. Those living are: Mrs. J.F. McGranahan of Kansas City, Mrs. F.S. McGranahan and Mrs. E.L. Songs of Topeka, Mrs. G.W. Ward of Delia, Mrs. F.W. Knight of Seattle, Washington, and John Patterson of Trayer, Kansas.
She also leaves to mourn her loss an aged husband, one sister, Mrs. Amanda Page of Longmont, Colo., and one brother, John Custer of Eufala, Okla., all of whom were present for the funeral except Mrs. Knight of Seattle, Wash., and John Patterson of Trayer, Kansas. She also leaves seven grand-children and one great-grand child.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Ellington at the M.E. Church in Emmett, Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock. Interment in the St. Clere cemetery.
