| Obituary- Aitkens, Joseph Joseph Aitkens
Joseph Sherman Aitkens, 83, Route 3, Mayetta, died Sunday in a Topeka hospital where he was readmitted Dec. 3. He had been admitted to the same hospital Feb. 3, 1974, and released.
He was born Nov. 25, 1891, near Rossville and lived in the Mayetta community many years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church west of Mayetta. He was a farmer many years.
He was married to the former Maggie Levier, who died May 18, 1965.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Catherine Simon, 414 Tefft; two sisters, Mrs. Amy McCarty, Lanagan, Mo., and Mrs. Anna Moore, California; six grandchildren and a great grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mercer Funeral Home at Holton. Burial will be in Ship Shee Cemetery west of Mayetta. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Died Jan. 19, 1975 - Buried Jan. 22, 1975.
