Services were at 2 p.m. Friday at Hampton-Barrett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa for Mrs. Vera Irene Patterson Adams, 69, Delia. She died Monday, April 13, 1987, in an El Cajon, Calif., hospital. She was visiting relatives in California.
Bob Grubb, supervising deputy coroner of San Diego County, Calif., said Mrs. Adams was struck by a car at a street intersection in Lakeside, Calif. She died later in the hospital, Grubb said.
She was born September 2, 1917, at Ozawkie, the daughter of Louis and Verna Ammen Meyer. She lived in Delia the past five Years and formerly spent most of her life in Perry.
She was married to Alva "Stubb" Patterson October 7, 1935. He died November 28, 1978. She was married to Lester A. Adams December 12, 1979, at Miami, Okla. He died September 1, 1986. A son, Donald E. Patterson, died April 1, 1955.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Donna Rose, Perry, and Mrs. Charlotte Wilks, Lawrence; two sisters, Mrs. Bette Clark, Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Maxine Boyd, Leavenworth; two brothers, Jeff Meyer, Kansas City, Mo., and Warren Meyer, Topeka; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery at Perry. Relatives and friends met from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
