Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday (this afternoon, at Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys, for Ernest Vernon Norton, 88, Jefferson City, Mo., who died Friday, October 26, 1979, at the
home of a stepson in Jefferson City.
He was born October 16, 1891, at Stuttgart, the son of John G. and Margaret Frances Best Norton, and lived in western Kansas until moving to Rossville in 1932.
Mr. Norton was a farmer and an Army veteran of World War I.
He was married to Vera Cool in 1923. She died in 1926. He was married to Blanche Tuller Hause October 14, 1932, at Topeka. She survives. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Frances Jepson, Leavenworth, and Mrs. Lavern Braden Phelps, Hoyt; two stepsons, Glenn Hause, Rossville, and Wayne Hause, Jefferson City, Mo.; a brother, Sam Norton, Norton; 19 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery.
