    Topeka-Nicolas E. “Nick” DeVader, 19, Tonganoxie, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016 in Topeka.

    He was born June 21, 1997 in Topeka, the son of Joshua D. DeVader and Micah D. Leeper. Nick graduated from Seaman High School in 2015.

    He was involved in football and track and had a passion for all sports. Nick had a gift with babies and children and had a beautiful smile. He worked in construction as a mason.

    Survivors include his father, Josh DeVader, mother and step-father; Micah (Lance) Bailey; step-father, Lance Williams; brothers, Michael DeVader, Cody Williams, Noah Bailey, William DeVader, Xavier DeVader and Benjamen DeVader; sisters, Taylor Williams, Morgan DeVader, Brianna DeVader, Lucy DeVader and Josh-Lynn DeVader; Grandparents, Tom & Karen Leeper, Judy and Kent Francis, Dave DeVader and Betty Bailey; aunts, Jessica Hodges and Misty Vick; uncle, Lukas Leeper.

    Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday, October 28, 2016 at the First Christian Church (1880 SW Gage) Topeka. Interment will be in the Delia Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 5:00 P.M. Thursday, October 27, 2016 and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nick DeVader Memorial Fund and sent in care of the funeral home.
