    Edwin John Krasny
    Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Tibbitts-Griffin Highland Chapel for Edwin John Krasny, 73, Waterville, formerly of 329 Harrison. He died Sunday, Nov. 24, at a Marysville hospital where he was admitted the previous day.

    Mr. Krasny taught school several years and farmed at Ottawa and near Berryton in Shawnee County before he moved into Topeka in 1958. He then worked as a carpenter and painter until he retired in 1980. He spent the past year at Waterville.

    He was born June 8, 1912, at the Cottage Hill community in Marshall County, the son of Joseph and Rose Nemechek Krasny. He attended grade school in Marshall County, then 1 moved to Topeka with his family and attended Washburn Rural High School. He was graduated from Kansas State University, Manhattan, in the top 10 percent of his class.

    He was married to Grace E. Gardner Oct. 31, 1935. She died in 1955. He married Lucille Thompson Dec. 8. 1956, at Harrisonville, Mo. She died July 29, 1978.

    Survivors include a son, Joe Krasny, Waterville: two brothers, Jess Krasny, Topeka, and Rudolph Krasny, Rossville; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Bass, Mrs. Elsie Bosworth and Mrs. Lillie Smerchek, all of Topeka; and three grandchildren.

    Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mr. Krasny will lie in state at the funeral chapel from 6 p.m. today until the service time, after which the casket will remain closed. Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Valley Convalescent Center, Blue Rapids, for a blood monitor for diabetic patients.
