    Obituary- Beougher, Robert
    Robert O. Beougher, 83, Topeka, formerly of Delia, died Thursday, May 23, 2002, at a Leavenworth hospital.
    He was born March 9, 1919, in Orion, the son of Omar and Ida Mae Purdum Beougher. He had lived in Topeka the past several years.
    Mr. Beougher grew up in the Gove and Quinter communities in western Kansas. He served in the United State Army from May 1937 until November 1939, and again from October 1944 until April 1946. He was a veteran of World War II.
    He worked for Boeing Aircraft Manufacturing in Wichita, and for Ryan and Hughes Aircraft Manufacturing in California for many years. He retired from Seymore Foods, Topeka, where he worked for over 12 years.
    He lived in California and in Las Vegas before moving back to Kansas in 1969. He had lived in the Delia community, the Raymond community, and moved to Topeka about four years ago. He was a member of the Raymond Baptist Church and attended the Silver Lake Baptist Church. He was a member of Post No. 400 of the American Legion, Topeka.
    On April 29, 1950 he married Addie G. Mark at El Dorado. She survives.
    Other survivors include four daughters, Myrtle E. Wingo, Topeka, Roberta M. Maynard, Las Vegas, NV, Martha J. Tucker, Spring, TX and Linda K. Wyatt, Raymond; one son, Robert L. Beougher, Oklahoma City, OK; one sister, Delores “Penny” Enwall, Pocatello, ID; 10 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. A grandson, Robert Shane Wingo, died in 1961.
    His service was at 10 a.m. Saturday at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys. Burial was in the Delia Cemetery. The graveside service was conducted by a detail team from Ft. Leavenworth. A family visitation was held Friday from 7 to 8 at the funeral home.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the Silver Lake Baptist Church or Post No. 400 of the American Legion, and sent in care of the funeral home.
