    William H. Brees
    William H. Brees, 87, Delia, died Wednesday, January 28, 1998, at the St. Marys Hospital, St. Marys.
    He was born June 20, 1910, in Aliceville, the son of Ananias and Mary Minnie Mertz Brees. He had lived in the Delia community most of his life.
    Mr. Brees moved with his par¬ents to Delia in 1919. He was a farmer and stockman. He was a member of the Emmett United Methodist Church, and was the head of the Lord’s Acre Project, which was a building fund raiser at the church. He served on the Emmett Grade School Board. He worked at the A.S.C.S. office for several years. He was a former member of the Delia Masonic Lodge.
    He was married to Julia Bahner. She survives.
    Mr. Brees was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Brees McDowell, on July 6, 1988.
    Other survivors include two sons, Donald G. Brees and Will-iam L. Brees, both of Emmett, 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grand¬children.
    The family received friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Friday at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home. His service was at 11:00 Saturday at the Emmett United Methodist Church. Burial was in Adrian Cem¬etery.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the Emmett United Methodist Church and sent in care of the funeral home.

    William H. Brees
    DELIA — William H. Brees, 87, Delia, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998, at a St. Marys hospital.
    Mr. Brees was a farmer and stockman. He also had worked at the ASCS office for several years.
    He was born June 20, 1910, at Aliceville, the son of Ananias and Mary Minnie Mertz Brees. He had lived in Delia since 1919.
    Mr. Brees was a member of the Emmett United Methodist Church. He also served in the Emmett Grade school board. He was a former member of the Delia Mason¬ic Lodge.
    He was married to Julia Bahner on Oct. 5,1932, at Walnut Hill north of Silver Lake. She survives.
    Other survivors include two sons, Don¬ald G. Brees and William L. Brees, both of Emmett; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great¬grandchildren.
    Mr. Brees was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Brees McDowell, July 6, 1988.
    Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Emmett United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Adrian Cemetery north of Delia. Mr. Brees will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at Piper-Verscshelden Funeral Home in St. Marys, where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the Emmett United Methodist Church and sent in care of the funeral home.
