 | Obituary- Brennan, Joseph 1 ROSSVILLE --Memorial Mass will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys, Ks. for Joseph R. Brennan, 19, Mount Vernon, Mo. He was killed Sunday, Aug. 5, 2000, in a car accident west of Halltown, Mo.
He was born Jan. 5, 1981, in Topeka, the son of Francis J. and Sherrie Gabbert Brennan. He was raised in Rossville and moved with his family to Mount Vernon, Mo., 15 years ago. He graduated from high school in Mount Vernon in 1999. He attended the University of Missouri last year and was enrolled at Southwest Missouri State University for the fall semester.
While in high school, Mr. Brennan was active in student council and was vice president of his freshman class, president of his sophomore class, vice president of the study body as a junior and president of the student body his senior year. He served as a delegate and junior counselor to state and national student council workshops and conferences. And he participated in baseball, basketball and Quiz Bowl. He earned a presidential physical fitness award, the Edward E. Spencer Scholarship, University of Missouri Alumni Scholarship, and he was included in Who's Who Among American High School Students all four years of his high school education.
Mr. Brennan was a member of St. Susanne Catholic Church in Mount Vernon.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Sherrie and Tom Furgason, Mount Vernon; his father and stepmother, Frank and Pam Brennan, Silver Lake; a daughter, Rowan E. Page Brennan, Miller, Mo.; his fiancée, Mandi Page, Miller; stepsister, Sheila Allison, Carbondale; grandparents, Sue Gabbert, Fayetteville, Ark., Dick Gabbert, Liberty, Mo., and Joyce Brennan, Rossville; and great-grandparents, Elizabeth Seneker, Mount Vernon, and Theda Gabbert, Liberty.
Mr. Brennan was cremated. Inurnment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in St. Marys.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rowan Page Brennan Educational Fund and sent in care of Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys.

Joseph Roderick Brennan, 19, Mt. Vernon, MO, died Sunday, Au¬gust 6, 2000, in an auto accident two miles west of Halltown, MO.
He was born January 5, 1981, in Topeka, the son of Francis J. and Sherrie E. Gabbert Brennan.
He spent his early life in the Rossville community, and moved to the Mt. Vernon community 15 years ago. He attended Mt. Vernon schools and was graduated in May 1999. He was a student at Missouri University last year and was enrolled at SMSU for the current year. He was a member of St. Susanne Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon, and was active in student council in high school.
He served as vice president of his freshman class, president of his sophomore class, vice president of the student body his junior year and president of the student body his se¬nior year. He served as a delegate and junior counselor to state and national student council workshops and conferences. He was a member of the National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Shout and Lettermen’s Club, and served as district secretary of the Future Business Leaders of America. He was on var¬sity baseball, junior varsity and var¬sity basketball and Quiz Bowl teams. He earned a Presidential Physical Fitness Award, Edward E. Spencer Scholarship, University of Missouri Alumni Scholarship, and was includ¬ed in Who’s Who Among American High School Students, for four years.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was Thursday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Marys. Inurnment was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys.
